Are Kay Beauty Products worth it?

Hey everyone, so as you know by now Katrina Kaif started her own beauty line which is known as KayBeauty or Kaybykatrina. She launched this brand in October 2019 with lip crayons as her very first product. I am going to review these Kay Beauty products for you guys so you guys don’t have to waste your hard earned money on the wrong ones.

They are exclusively available on the Nykaa website and the Nykaa stores and cater many ranges such as face, cheeks, lips, and eyes.

I have bought all of them except for a few which were sent to me in PR. This is not a sponsored blog, and contains 100% honest review.

Kay Beauty Hydrating Foundation

  • Shade: 145N (wrong undertone for me)

 Shade in other foundations:

  1. MAC NC30
  2. Maybelline fit me 230
  3. Fenty beauty hydrating foundation 300
  • Consistency: Thick
  • Coverage: medium
  • Finish: Matte
  • Best for skintype: Oily to combination
  • Longevity: 4-5 hours
  • Price: 1200 INR
  • Travel friendly: No

I would definitely recommend this foundation for everyday use. However, finding the right undertone can be slightly challenging. But if you find the right match, I think it is a nice foundation to invest in.

Kay Beauty HD Concealer

  • Shade: 140Y (dark for me)
  • Consistency: thin
  • Coverage: light to medium
  • Finish: semi matte
  • Best for skintype: all
  • Longevity: 7-8 hours
  • Price: 800 INR
  • Travel friendly: yes

The undertone of this concealer is nice, however, the shade range does not excite me much. I wish they could expand the shade range in various undertones so everyone could get their perfect match. Apart from that, this concealer is a great one and creases the least on my under eyes when compared to the others.

Kay Beauty Loose Powder

One of the best products from the collection.

  • Shade: Translucent
  • Finish: Matte
  • Price: Rs. 800 INR
  • Travel friendly: yes
  1. The powder is finely milled which smoothens the undereyes flawlessly.

2. The concealer stays put for more than 8 hours which is what I expect from my loose powders.

3. It does not dry out or leave a white cast underneath the eyes.

The only drawback is the packaging. It is difficult to get product out because of the cushion type thing in the middle. Apart from that, I would also suggest using these for the new bridal makeup artists as it is affordable and works well.

kay Beauty Compact Powder

  • Finish: Matte
  • Shade: 110Y
  • Formula: A lot of kickback
  • Best for skintype: All ( except for extremely oily)
  • Price: 800 INR
  • Travel friendly: yes

This product looks very soft but produces a lot of kickback when a brush is dipped into it. It takes away the oil and provides a nice soft matte finish to the makeup look. However, wouldn’t recommend it for extremely oily people as it might start looking cakey on the skin.

Kay Beauty Contour & Highlight Pro Palette

  • Finish: Matte
  • Shades: 3 shades in 1 palette
  • Price: 1100 INR
  • Travel friendly: yes

This is however one of my least favorite products from the entire collection. The shades are not well suited for the Indian skintones. The highlight shade is too dark to highlight under the eyes. The bronzer and the contour shades are again too dark for a fair to medium skintone. So I don’t think it is best suited for all skintones.

Kay Beauty Matte Blush

  • Finish: Matte
  • Shade: soft nude
  • Price: 800 INR
  • Travel friendly: yes

I tried it multiple times, sometimes it comes out patchy, sometimes it blends beautifully. So I do have a love-hate relationship with this product as it works with some foundations and it doesn’t with some. So I think overall I would pass on this one as I have come across better blushes which are cheaper than this one. But this was my opinion, it could work for you really well.

Kay Beauty Waterproof 24 Hour Kajal

  • Finish: Matte
  • Shade: Black
  • Longevity: 7-8 hours
  • Price: 250 INR
  • Travel friendly: yes

The brand has 2-3 different variants in this one, which I don’t know why but the one I picked out was the cheapest amongst all and I think one of the best kajals in my collection. It’s buttery soft and blends like a dream. You can apply as it is or smudge it, works both ways.

Kay Beauty Shadow sticks

  • Formula: Comes in two formulas
    – Matte
    -Metallic
  • Coverage: 2 swipes for opaqueness
  • Longevity: 4-5 hours
  • Price: 700 INR
  • Travel friendly: yes

This is a practical option for someone who uses only a few shades every time for their eyeshadow looks. You get a good amount of product in one stick to use again and again. If you are someone who likes to experiment with different colors in their eye makeup then this is not for you.

Kay Beauty Correct and Contour Sticks

A major pass from my side, as the formula is dry and doesn’t blend very easily. I have used better products and would recommend them instead of these. They are absolutely not worth it. I recommend using the contour sticks as lip liners, as they are perfect shades for nude lips. Don’t use it on chapped lips though. Nourish your lips well before applying them.

Kay Beauty Lip Liners

This brand makes one of the best lip liners on budget. They have a beautiful shade range and I love the nude shades from them. One of my favorite shades is called Hype. It’s a perfect medium brown nude shade for the Indian skintones. Would 100% recommend them. It is not too dry to chap your lips, not too soft to bleed on the edges of your lips. It sits perfectly and stays for a very long time.
